Clean Water for a Healthy & Natural Detox

April 15, 2024

A natural detox starts with hydration. That said, not all water is equal so it’s important to evaluate the type of water you incorporate into a detox routine.

Let’s explore the different types of water and how they can affect your detox journey:

  • Tap Water: while generally safe, drinking tap water during a detox inadvertently introduces some toxins into the body. For instance, tap water contains chlorine, a disinfectant that kills dangerous bacteria in water and, as such, long-term exposure to this chemical can affect your gut flora. Additionally, tap water may contain heavy metals like lead, cadmium and mercury, which can negatively affect your heart, brain and kidney health.
  • Brita Filters: although an ordinary Brita (and all standard water filters) protects you from chlorine, these filters remove essential minerals that your body needs to regulate many body functions. While this is a better choice for a detox than tap water, it isn’t ideal due to its lack of minerals.
  • Santevia Filters: Santevia water is the ideal water to drink during a detox. Santevia has a two-stage filtration process - in the first stage, Santevia removes harmful contaminants; and in the second stage it adds back in healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and zinc, making it ideal for detoxification.

So, the main question is - how can minerals support your detox journey?

  • Calcium aids in cellular function and stability, facilitating toxin processing and removal in the liver and other organs.
  • Magnesium helps neutralize and eliminate toxins, while also providing anti-inflammatory and nervous system support.
  • Potassium maintains fluid balance and cell function, essential for transporting and eliminating waste products efficiently.
  • Zinc supports liver health, provides antioxidant protection, and strengthens the immune system, aiding in the effective detoxification and reduction of toxin-induced damage.

In summary, the type of water you choose during a cleanse matters: you want to ensure it’s free from impurities and rich in minerals.

Minerals support the body’s detoxification processes by protecting the body against oxidative stress and by ensuring proper organ function, enzyme activity, and cellular health. Support your detox journey with Santevia’s filtered mineralized water and enjoy cleansing, healthy water at home.
